Jaswant Singh files his nomination papers from Barmer LS constituency as an Independent

After being denied ticket, defaint BJP leader Jaswant Singh today filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate for Barmer Lok Sabha seat and accused party president Rajnath Singh and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of betraying him.

Addressing supporters after filing his nomination, Singh alleged that the two leaders have cheated him. He said the betrayal is not with Jaswant Singh alone but with BJP's principles and ideologies. Singh said that in 2009, Rajnath Singh had expelled him from the party in a manner even worse than a peon.

The former Union Minister said he had informed L. K.Advani almost 18 months back of his wish to contest his last election from hometown Barmer and then told Rajnath Singh and L K Advani a few weeks back. He said the ticket was given not to a BJP worker but somebody who had been abusing us till recently when he joined BJP from Congress. Jaswant Singh said he was very much hurt by this.
