Jaswant Singh attacks BJP leadership for inducting outsiders

Crisis in BJP over Barmer nomination deepens. Senior BJP Leader Jaswant Singh rules out any compromise on his demand for Barmer constituency and says BJP has been completely taken over by the duplicate faction who never had any respect for party’s ideology. Sushma Swaraj feels hurt over denial of Barmer seat to Jaswant Singh and says the candidate was not decided at the party's CEC meet.

Singh, who would be reaching Barmer on Sunday, refused to disclose his plans on whether he would be filing his nomination as an independent. Talking to media persons at Jodhpur Jaswant Singh said that he will announce his strategy on 24th March at Barmer after meeting with his supporters.

He expressed serious concern over induction of outsiders into BJP. He said BJP has been completely taken over by the elements who never had any respect for party’s ideology. BJP has given ticket to Col. Sonaram from Barmer who recently joined BJP after quiting Congress.

Meanwhile, BJP sought to placate Jaswant Singh by saying that he is a senior leader and his services will be utilised appropriately. BJP President Rajnath Singh told media persons that the party's respect for senior leader Jaswant Singh can not be measured in terms of a Lok Saba ticket.

Replying to a media query that Jaswant Singh may quit the party and fight as an independent candidate, the BJP chief dismissed it as a hypothetical question.
