Jaswant Singh attacks BJP leadership for inducting outsiders; says need to differentiate between real and fake

Agrieved by denial of ticket to contest from Barmer, Senior BJP Leader Jaswant Singh today ruled out any compromise on his demand for Barmer constituency and appeared to keep his options open.

Singh, who would be reaching Barmer on Sunday, refused to disclose his plans on whether he would be filing his nomination as an independent. Talking to media persons at Jodhpur Jaswant Singh said that he will announce his strategy on 24th March at Barmer after meeting with his supporters.

He expressed serious concern over induction of outsiders into BJP. He said BJP has been completely taken over by the elements who never had any respect for party’s ideology. Singh said that the BJP was now

divided into two factions, which he described as original and duplicate. He lamanted that the duplicate faction has the reins of party now.

BJP has given ticket to Col. Sonaram from Barmer who recently joined BJP after quiting Congress.

Meanwhile, BJP today sought to placate Jaswant Singh by saying that he is a senior leader and his services will be utilised appropriately. BJP President Rajnath Singh told media persons that the party's respect for senior leader Jaswant Singh can not be measured in terms of a Lok Saba ticket.

Replying to a media query that Jaswant Singh may quit the party and fight as an independent candidate, the BJP chief dismissed it as a hypothetical question.
