Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022, starting from October 16 due to a back injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that its Medical team has ruled out Bumrah from the squad after a detailed assessment and in consultation with the specialists. The BCCI said, it will announce a replacement soon.
The 28-year-old, one of the best bowlers in the world, initially pulled out of India's ongoing three-match T20 series against South Africa with a back injury.
At the ICC competition, India is in Group 2 with Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, and two qualifiers.
