Japanese PM Abe to arrive in Delhi tomorrow on 3-day visit to India

Prime Minister of Japan Mr Shinzo Abe will arrive in New Delhi tomorrow evening on a three day visit to India to attend annual summit. Mr. Abe will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Talks will be followed by signing of agreements and joint Press statement by two Prime Ministers. He will address business leaders forum and inaugurate Japan-India Innovation Seminar. <br/><br/>The visiting dignitary accompanied by Mr. Modi will also visit Varanasi on Saturday afternoon and attend Ganga Aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat there. Both the Prime Ministers had signed a pact to develop Varanasi as a Smart City during Mr. Modi's visit to Japan in August last year. <br/><br/>The progress of work according to that pact is likely to be discussed during the visit. Japanese Prime Minister will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee during his stay in Delhi. AIR correspondent reports that the two Prime Ministers, at the last summit meeting held in Tokyo, had agreed to elevate the relationship to Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
