In Bihar, Japanese encephalitis has claimed the lives of eight more children in the last one week in Gaya district of the state.The Superintendent of Anugrah Narayan medical college Sitaram Prasad told AIR that two children died in the last 24 hours and six in the last five days.He said that over three dozen children are still battling for life,AIR Patna correspondent reports that the first encephalitis-related death in the district this year was reported in August.
