Japan will expedite issuance of green cards to highly skilled professionals in IT and other cutting edge fields from foreign countries, including India from April.<br/><br/>Shigeki Maeda, Executive Vice President, Japan External Trade Organisation, JETRO told reporters in New Delhi that they are trying to make Japanese business environment better for the foreign companies through introducing a new type of green card system. <br/><br/>A spokesperson for JETRO said, the new type of Japanese visa system entails fastest issuance for talented and highly skilled individuals, including IT personnel.<br/><br/>Under the proposed system, individuals having a valid visa residing and working in Japan can apply for a green card after 1 or 2 years, from 5 to 6 years earlier.<br/><br/>The move will expedite permanent residency for highly skilled foreign professionals as they can apply for a green card as soon as after a year.
