Japan has decided to be associated with the development of Chennai, Ahmedabad and Varanasi as smart cities. This was conveyed today by Japan's Ambassador to India Mr Kenji Hiramatsu during his meeting with Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu. Mr Hiramatsu said that Japan is interested in urban development initiatives of Indian government and has decided to be a partner.
