Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan has repeated his pledge to make his country less reliant on nuclear energy. He was speaking at a ceremony to mark the 66th anniversary of dropping of the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima. The function was held at the Hiroshima peace memorial park. The Mayor of Hiroshima said the accident at the Fukushima nuclear plant had shattered the trust of the Japanese people in nuclear power.
