In Badminton, Rio Olympics and World Championships Silver medalist PV Sindhu today made a shock second round exit from the Japan Open Superseries tournament in Tokyo. Sindhu, seeded 4th, lost in straight games against local girl Nozomi Okuhara whom she had defeated in the Korea Open Final on Sunday. Okuhara now leads the head-to-head record against Sindhu, 5-4. In the Men's Singles, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy advanced to the quarterfinals. While Srikanth defeated Hu Yun of Hong Kong, Prannoy beat Hsu Jen Hao of Chinese Taipei. Sameer Verma, however, bowed out.The Mixed Doubles pair of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N. Sikki Reddy also made it to the last-8.Saina Nehwal will play her second round match later today. She will take on fifth seed Carolina Marin of Spain.
