Japan lifts all tsunami advisories hours after powerful quake

Japan has lifted all tsunami advisories that were put in place after a powerful earthquake struck off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture shortly before 6:00 am local time at a shallow depth of 11.3 kilometres. <br/><br/><br/>The Meteorological Agency had issued a tsunami warning for the coast of Fukushima and Miyagi Prefectures and advisories for other prefectures along the Pacific Ocean. A series of tsunami reached wide areas, including one measuring 1.4 meters at Sendai Port in Miyagi. <br/><br/>Bullet trains, flights and other forms of transportation have been suspended or suffered delays in service. Meteorological Agency has warned that another quake of a similar scale (7.4) could occur within a week, and this may also generate a tsunami.
