Japan intervenes in currency market in six and half years

Japan has intervened in the currency markets for the first time in six and half years in order to weaken the value of Yen against the dollar. The Japanese central bank stepped in shortly after trading opened, selling Yen and buying dollars. Experts say a strong Yen hurts crucial Japanese exports.
