Cauvery fifth stage project that will provide bulk potable water of 775 million litres per day from Cauvery river to Bengaluru city will be funded by Japan International Co-operation Agency JICA. <br/><br/>In a press release issued by the Karnataka state Government, JICA will extend 85 percent of 5500 crore rupees project cost as loan. Remaining 15 percent will be borne by state Government and Bengaluru water supply and sewage board. <br/><br/>The construction will begin from 2019 and it will be commissioned in 2022.
