Japan has released a Chinese fishing boat captain, arrested two weeks ago on charges of ramming two patrol vessels near disputed islands in the East China Sea. The arrest led to the worst row between the two countries in years. China had been demanding his immediate and unconditional release. The move came after four Japanese men were detained by China on suspicion of illegal filming in a military area.
