Japan cabinet nod for stimulus package to shore up stagnant economy

The Japanese cabinet today approved a stimulus package worth about 224 billion U.S. dollars aiming to shore up the country's current stagnant economy by beating chronic deflation and tackling the strong yen. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told at a press conference that beating deflation and curbing yen's appreciation is crucially important. He said the package will also create 600,000 jobs.
