The 14 hour nationwide Janta curfew, a social-distancing exercise to fight against the corona virus outbreak was observed today across the districts in Nagaland. Most of the citizens voluntarily remained indoors and the streets wore a deserted look as vehicles largely remained off the road. As solidarity to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sunday Church services and activities in various parts of the state were cancelled in which church services were conducted through streamed live on TV, YouTube and other social networking sites. Christians also observed the day as a Day of Prayer by holding prayers and fasting at their respective homes for divine intervention for containment of the pandemic.<br />''<br />'' Meanwhile, to show support to those providing essential services, the people of the state responded to the call with a loud siren from Police Headquarters and citizens making noises from their respective homes for five minutes at five this evening. Staff of All India Radio Kohima also took part. Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen also expressed gratitude to the citizens and churches for responding to the call of PM Modi's Janta Curfew.<br />
