Preparations are on full swing in Mathura for Sri Krishna Janamshtami celebration tomorrow. Large numbers of devotees including foreign tourists are reaching Mathura and Vridavan for the celebrations. However, as per the Hindu calendar, Janmashtami is also being celebrated today at several places in Uttar Pradesh including Mathura, Vrindavan and Varanasi. Religious processions depicting Krishan’s life are also being carried out in Allahabad and several other places in the state today. Stringent security arrangements have been made in the state especially in Mathura for today’s and tomorrows programmes. Seventeen companies of PAC have been deployed in Mathura and Vrindavan.
