Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, is being celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in different part of the country today. Temples in Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh have been decorated and illuminated tastefully. A large number of pilgrims and foreign tourists are visiting different temples in the two cities. 3,500 police personnel have been deployed in and around Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura. 10 watch towers have also been erected as part of beefed up security in the city.<br/><br/>In Mathura based Sri Krishna Janmasthan and Dwarkadheesh temple and Vrindaban based Krishna Balram temple, Shah Ji temple and Prem Mandir?,? the Janmastami would be celebrated ?today, ?while ?in rest of the temples of Brijbhumi, it would be celebrated ?tomorrow followed by Nand Mahotsava the next day?. Radha Raman temple and Radha Damodar temple ?of ?Vrinda?v?an would become centre of attraction for pilgrims as Janmastami in these temples would be celebrated during day time. <br/><br/>A massive procession would also march through the main streets of Vrinda?v?an. Starting from Govind Ghat after paying obeisance to Yamuna Ji, the Samuhik Nagar Sankirtan Shobha Yatra would start at 4.00 PM and terminate with mass Prasadam ceremony?.<br/><br/><br/>In Rajasthan, Shree Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety. Special Janmashtami programmes are being organized at various lord Krishna temples across the state. <br/><br/>Special programme on the occasion of Janmashtami are being organized at Shreenathji temple in Nathdwara, Khatu shyamji temple in Sikar, Madan Mohan ji temple at Karauli and Gobind devji temple in Jaipur. At Shree nath ji temple Janmashtami festival begun with mangla arti performed in the early morning. Devotees in large number from various places has reached Madan Mohan ji temple . The festivities will continue beyond the midnight. Tight security arrangement have been made across the state.
