In Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu city has been placed under maximum alert and the state's border with Punjab have been sealed to prevent entry of BJP activists for hoisting the national flag in Srinagar on Republic Day. The State government had on the 20th of this month, said that it will not allow flag hoisting at Lal Chowk or permit any other programme which disturbs peace in the state. Our Correspondent reports that police personnel have been deployed and barricades set up at many places in the City.Meanwhile, State BJP leaders have reiterated to go ahead with its flag hoisting programme at Lal Chowk. However, it has made a slight change in the schedule of the Yatra launched by its youth wing. The Yatra which was to enter Jammu and Kashmir from Lakhanpur tomorrow morning will now enter the State on Tuesday from Madhopur in Punjab where a rally will be held by the party.
