The 300 kilometer long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained closed on Saturday due to heavy jamming of vehicles at various places. According to Police Control Room the vehicles are not able to reach Srinagar and Jammu because of the jam.After remaining opened during the day yesterday, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for normal vehicular traffic in the evening following fresh snowfall between Patnitop and Batote.Although the men and machinery of Border Roads Organization are working hard to make the highway traffic worthy but keeping in view the extreme slippery conditions the highway was declared closed for vehicles as it is not safe to allow the traffic.
