Jammu-Srinagar National Highway opened for one-way traffic today

<span style="color: #222222;">The weather in Srinagar and elsewhere in Kashmir Valley is improving as there is sunshine today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The MeT department had yesterday predicted improvement in weather, with light snowfall in north Kashmir areas. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The high danger avalanche warning was also issued for Baramulla and Kupwara districts, while medium danger warning was issued for Bandipora and Ganderbal districts till 5 PM today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Kashmir is reeling under 40-day harshest cold period called 'Chillai Kalan' during which the night and day temperature remains very low.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">With improvement in weather, the 300-kilometre long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was opened for one-way traffic today. Light and heavy motor vehicles have been permitted to move from Jammu towards Srinagar.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Traffic authorities said, no vehicle would be allowed to ply in the opposite direction. The Mughal Road in south Kashmir connecting Poonch and Rajouri districts in Jammu Province, also remained closed due to snow.</span>
