After a portion of the road was washed away due to flash floods, The Jammu-Pathankote National Highway has been closed for traffic on Friday at Hiranagar in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Over 2,000 vehicles are stranded and personnel of the Border Roads Organisations (BRO) and Public Works Department have been working to restore the damaged stretch. It is worth mentioning here that the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway is the only road link between the Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country and with the washing away of this stretch the road connectivity of the State has been cut -off from the rest of the country.
