Jammu and Kashmir will host this year's Federation Cup football championship in Srinagar. State's Minister for Youth Service and Sports Imran Raza Ansari said that the Championship would be held in the third week of August. Mr Ansari said this while addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the arrangement for the smooth conduct of the tournament. The Minister directed the officers to ensure that all necessary measures are put in place in advance to ensure smooth conduct of the prestigious championship in which teams from different states of the country will be participating. The Minister said various renowned teams like Mohan Bagan, East Bengal, Dempo Sports Goa, Mumbai FC, Salgaokar Goa and other top Football clubs from north east would be participating in the tournament. The venues would be Bakhshi Stadium, Polo Ground and the newly constructed TRC Ground.
