Jammu and Kashmir administration is making all efforts to mitigate the hardship faced by the people in the wake of the lockdown to prevent Cornavirus pandemic. Social Welfare Department has also reached out to poor and destitute in Kashmir valley and is trying to minimize their sufferings.<br />'' <br />'' AIR Correspondent reports, Director General, Social Welfare Department Kashmir,  Rukhsana Gani has said that several measures have been taken by the Department to alleviate the sufferings of old aged people, physically challenged, women in distress, divorcees and destitute reeling under the prevailing lockdown. She said that the Social Welfare Department has released two months advance payment to 3.2 lakh pensioners in Kashmir Division under 'Integrated Social Security Scheme'. Besides, scholarships have been awarded to about 5.75 lakh students. She added that the students have been one of the priorities for the department and they are ensuring that their academic pursuits do not get hampered due to any financial distress. Meanwhile, with 24 new positive cases in Kashmir, the number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has risen to 184. <br />''  <br />
