Jalandhar police claims arrest ISI agent

The Jalandhar police claimed to have arrested a Pakistani ISI agent and recovered some sensitive information, including maps of important locations and secret documents, from his possession. He had been sending sensitive information regarding various defence locations and other prohibited areas to ISI. The agent, Mohammad Alam, resident of Okara district in Pakistan was living in Jalandhar since long with fictitious identity as Thakur Amar Dass and used to work as a vendor. ADCP, Crime, Rajpal Sandhu told media that he was a paid agent and had entered the country via Nepal and Banglades route through illegal means. He had also procured an Indian passport, driving licence and other documents. A case under various sections of IPC and of the Official Secrecy Act and of the Passport Act has been registered against him.
