In Punjab, 57 labourers have been rescued, who were trapped in a three- storyed building of a blanket factory which collapsed at focal point area in Jalandhar late last night. Meanwhile, two bodies have been found by National Disaster Response Force, NDRF. Army and NDRF team along with Punjab Police, CRPF and volunteers are doing their best to rescue as many as possible. Dog squad of NDRF has also been pressed into service. The rescuers are using loud speakers to call those trapped under the debris and responding immediately to the emergency. Ambulances and team of doctors are also stationed at the spot to provide first-aid and to ferry the injured to civil hospital.Our correspondent reports that although the exact number of trapped labourers is still not clear but it seems to cross over one hundred. As per NDRF sources the situation is critical and it may take many hours of constant labour to retrieve the workers whether alive or otherwise.
