Jal Shakti Ministry has approved drinking water supply schemes of rupees over two hundred sixty-seven crore for Uttarakhand under the Jal Jeevan Mission. All 13 water supply schemes sanctioned are multi-village schemes. It will provide tap water connection to more than 23 thousand rural households. As of date, out of over 16 lakh rural households in the state, 7.43 lakh are getting tap water supply in their homes. The state plans to provide tap water connections to 2.64 lakh households by the end of next year. The Ministry has approved drinking water supply scheme worth over 493 crore rupees for 681 villages spread across nine districts benefiting 42 thousand households of Uttarakhand in past one week.<br />''<br />''<br />
