Jal Shakti Minister writes to Mizoram CM expressing concerns over slow progress of JJM

<span style="color: #222222;">Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has written to Chief Minister of Mizoram and expressed his concerns over the slow progress of Jal Jeevan Mission in the State.<br />'' <br />'' He said that against the target of providing tap connections to over 23,000 households in 2019-20, the state has provided around 16,000  tap connections.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister said, over 68 crore rupees was provided to Mizoram and out of which the State has only spend Rs. 37 Crore.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Shekhawat stressed the fact that providing potable water to every rural household is a national priority and the State should make efforts to accomplish the goal in time-bound manner.<br />'' <br />'' He said, the aim of this mission is to provide potable drinking water to every rural household through Functional Household Tap Connections by 2024.<br />'' <br />''<br />''This Mission is a tool to provide security and dignity to rural women especially girls.</span>
