Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has written a letter to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the State. In the letter, Mr Shekhawat&nbsp; expressed&nbsp; happiness that the State has planned to provide 100 per cent Functional Household Tap Connection by 2023 under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The JJM plans to improve the lives of people by providing safe drinking water to every rural household in the country through functional household tap connections by 2024.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The Ministry in a statement said that out of nealry 8 lakh households in the State, only 7.63 per cent&nbsp; households have been provided with tap connections. The Ministry said, the State has to work in a planned way to achieve 100 per cent&nbsp; target within the deadline. It said, the Centre is committed to provide all assistance to the State Government to achieve this goal.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Shekhawat reiterated that providing potable water to every household is a national priority and In this context, for the year 2020-21, the fund allocation to Tripura has been increased from&nbsp; 107.64 crore rupees to over 156 crore ruppes. The Union Minister advised the State for strengthening the existing drinking water sources for long-term sustainability of drinking water supply systems.</span><br />
