<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that water shortage is being faced due to faster pace of urbanization and over-exploitation of ground water in the country. He was speaking on the occasion of 31st Induction Training Programme for newly appointed officers of Central Water Engineering (Group A) Services at National Water Academy in Pune today. <br />''<br />''Mr.Shekhawat advocated for developing habit of water storage and make effective use of it and said that availability of pure potable water is the main challenge. Chairman of Central Water Commission A. K. Sinha, Secretary of Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation U. P. Singh and Director of National Water Academy S. N. Pande were also present on the occasion. The Induction Programme will be conducted for 24 weeks for the new officers to gear them up for the challenges and responsibilities in water sector in the future.</span><br />
