In Karnataka, senior legislators of different factions of the BJP continue to hold discussions with central party leaders ahead of the meeting of the legislature party today. Due to hectic political parleys, the meeting scheduled to start early in the day, has not begun so far. Senior BJP leaders Arun Jaitely and Rajnath Singh are holding talks with the leaders of the party for smooth transition of leadership in Bangalore. The party has decided to formally elect Jagdish Shettar as the leader of the Legislature party. The BJP spokesperson C T Ravi said the leaders are thrashing out differences within the party and everything will be settled amicably. The MLA from Mysore, Shankarlinge Gowda said that their faction is demanding Deputy Chief Minister's post and some important portfolios. Our Correspondent adds that the scheduled time for legislative party meeting will be known once the talks with the Central leaders concludes.
