Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that the Modi government has many major challenges before it including revival of the economy. Participating in the discussion in Rajya Sabha on the motion of thanks on presidential address, Mr. Jaitley, who is also leader of the House, said that the government will use the next five years to make the country more stronger and mature.
Making a scathing attack on the previous UPA government and its style of functioning, he said it failed on economic and development fronts.
Referring to the issue of corruption, he promised a stronger Lok Pal soon.
Earlier taking part in the debate, leader of opposition in the House Ghulam Nabi Azad said that most of the points in the presidential address have been taken from the programmes and schemes launched by the Congress led UPA government.
