The government today said a National Institute of Land Management will be set up very soon. Rural Development minister Jairam Ramesh informed the Lok Sabha that the institute will train state government officials to better manage land records in the country. Mr Ramesh said land records have been computerised in a majority of the states. The minister said with a view to assisting the states in computerising land records and strengthening their revenue administration his ministry was administering two centrally sponsored schemes- computerisation of land records and strengthening of revenue administration and updating of land records up to 2007-08.
