Pushing his developmental agenda for Naxal-hit areas, Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh has asked Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda to expedite work on the action plan outlined for Saranda district in the state. In a letter to Mr. Munda, Mr. Ramesh called upon the district administration and state government to take follow-up actions along the lines indicated in the plan. He said, his ministry wants the action plan, implemented on experimental basis, to be replicated at other places also. Mr. Ramesh also assured Mr. Munda that the Union government will move quickly as soon as it receives action points from the state government on the Saranda Action Plan. He said, whatever is being done in Saranda has enormous significance not just for that area but for other Naxal-affected regions in the country as well.
