Jaipur Literature Festival begins today

The Jaipur Literature Festival has commenced in Jaipur today. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the festival. Addressing the inaugural session the Chief Minister said that JLF is the pride of Jaipur. <br />'' <br />'' He said that people know the culture of Rajasthan through this literary festival. He said that this is the platform where people can share their views without any hesitation. <br />'' <br />'' Energy minister BD Kalla was also present in the function. About 500 speakers of different fields are participating in the festival, which is currently in its 13th year.<br />

Jaipur Literature Festival begins today

Jaipur Literature Festival, popularly known as Kumbh of literature, is kicking off today. <br/><br/>All the arrangements have taken place for this five-day festival at Diggi Palace in the pink city.<br/><br/>Different stages have been set up at the venue. The 11th edition of the Festival will feature over 200 sessions on a multitude of topics, trends, ideas and genres, ranging from fiction, poetry, nonfiction, gender equality, environmental protection, science, history, liberal arts, journalism, economics, travel and cinema.<br/><br/>"Pink City is once again ready to host art and literature lovers from the country and abroad. Thousands of people have reached Jaipur to participate in this festival. <br/><br/>Thousands of others are coming in next five days. No room is available in most of the hotels of the city. Jaipur Police has made special arrangements for security but at the same time, it is also being taken care that guests should not face any problem. <br/><br/>Organizer of the festival Sanjay Roy told Akashwani that the renowned personalities of literature, cinema, music, art and culture will be attending the festival including Hamid Karzai, Muhammad Yunus, Mridula Garg, Bollywood personalities Anurag Kashyap, Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan, tabla wizard Zakir Hussain, popular writers Ashwin Sanghi, Amish, Chetan Bhagat, Sudha Murthy and several others.

Jaipur Literature Festival begins today

6th Jaipur Literature Festival will begin today. This is an important literary festival of the Asia-Pacific region. During the five-day long event, 285 writers from India and abroad will discuss on literary and social issues. Spritual leader Dalai Lama will be the chief guest at the festival. Writers of 16 Indian languages are participating in the festival. A range of readings, talks, debates, performances, children’s workshops and interactive activities would be organized in the festival. Yesterday a cricket match was also organized between teams of writers and Rajasthan Royals.Jaipur literature festival is not only a writer’s conference but it provides a platform for interaction between readers and writers. During the 5 daylong event 285 writers from India and abroad will discuss on literary and social issues. They will discuss on contemporary literary trends, and impact of social change on literature. Theme of this year’s literature festival is Buddha in literature. A range of readings, talks, debates, performances, children’s workshops and interactive activities would be organized in the festival. Keeping in view protest of Pakistani writers invited in the festival adequate security arrangements have also been made. Union Minister Shashi Tharoor,Sharmila Tagore,Diana Eck,Elizabeth Gilbert,Javed Akhtar,Kunwar Narayan,Nadeem Aslam,Madeline Miller,Tarun Tejpal and Kiran Bedi are among participants at the event. This year the festival will focus on Russian Literature.
