The ninth edition of Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) began in Jaipur tonight in the presence of renowned film makers. <br/>The ceremony opened with tributes to veteran actor Om Puri who died of a massive heart attack yesterday.'<br/><br/>Speaking at the ceremony, South Indian film maker Hariharan said that the future of film festivals in the country is bright and such events should be promoted to encourage budding film makers.'<br/><br/>This year's Life Time Achievement Award was presented to internationally acclaimed cine-visionary Ramesh Prasad, hailed as creator of specialised post production facilities.'<br/><br/>Touted to be worlds fastest growing film festival, the five-day event aims to promote emerging directors, as well as encourage exchange of knowledge, information, ideas and culture between India and the participating nations. The festival will witness participation by 250 filmmakers and artistes from the fraternity.
