The toll in the fire at Indian Oil Corp's fuel depot in Jaipur may rise to nine, even as fire fighters and the Army worked to contain the blaze that has burnt about 150 crore rupees worth of auto fuel. IOC Chairman Sarthak Behuria, who visited the accident site this morning, said, three civilians are confirmed dead and one is seriously injured. Six of the staff – three officers and three blue collared employees, are also missing. He said, five civilians are seriously injured while 40 others sustained minor injuries. <br/><br/>Petroleum Minister Murli Deora, who flew in to the city early this morning, said, the IOC will give an ex-gratia of 10 lakh rupees to the kin of those killed and 2 lakh rupees to those seriously injured, while one lakh will be given to those with minor injuries. Mr. Deora also informed that a five-member committee headed by M B Lal, former Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Petroleum will go into the causes of the fire and suggest holistic safety measures. The committee, will submit its report in six weeks.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Seven rehabilitation centres have been opened where the people evacuated from the nearby villages are taking shelter. The schools in the nearby villages will remain closed today. The District administration has prohibited entry in an area of five kilometers around the spot to prevent people from inhaling the poisonous gases. All factories in the industrial area have been closed. People in the nearby areas have started complaining of breathing problems and irritation in eyes. Nearby hospitals have been asked to attend to such patients.<br/><br/>The North-Westwern Railway has either cancelled or diverted 20 trains from Jaipur as the Railway track is passing near the incident sight. Nearby villages, colonies and hostels in nearby institutional area were evacuated and traffic on the adjoining Jaipur-Kota Highway was also diverted.
