Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Jaipal Reddy today said India is perfectly free to take a decision on its Oil imports.

Replying to a question in the Loksabha on Oil imports from Iran, Mr. Jaipal Reddy said, India respects the United Nations Sanctions on Iran, however do not take note of sanctions imposed by other countries. He said, the countries sovereignty on the decision will not be compromised.

The minister also said, the increase and decrease of import of Oil is decided by the Oil Companies and also on various other factors.
