In Andhra Pradesh, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress has retained Kadapa Lok Sabha seat with a huge majority of 5 lakh 21 thousand votes over his nearest rival, State Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy of the Congress. He polled 6 lakh 55 thousand 496 votes. Jaganmohan Reddy, who had won Kadapa Lok Sabha seat as a Congress candidate during the last Lok Sabha election resigned later and launched Y S R Congress party. His Mother and Widow of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Vijayamma has also been re-elected from Pulivendula Assembly seat. She defeated Y S Vivekananda Reddy brother of Rajasekhara Reddy who contested on Congress ticket, with a majority of over 85 thousand votes.
