In Karnataka, preparations are on to replace Sadanand Gowda with Jagadish Shetter as the Chief Minister. A faction headed by former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa had demanded leadership change, choosing Rural Development Minister Jagadish Shetter, a prominent leader from the Lingayat community, to replace Mr. Gowda. After the announcement made in Delhi on Sunday that Mr. Shetter will assume charge as the next Chief Minister, hectic parleys are on in the state within the BJP. Mr.Shetter held discussions with outgoing Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda, party incharge in the state, Dharmendra Pradhan, party state President K S Eeshwarappa and Member of Parliament, Ananth Kumar, since morning.

AIR Correspondent adds that the BJP national leaders Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh are likely to arrive this evening in Bangalore and the Legislative Party meeting will be held Tuesday morning.
