In Andhra Pradesh, the All Party Joint Action Committee has called for bandh in Telangana region in support of statehood issue on Wednesday. The decision assumes significance as all major political parties participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, the Joint Action Committee of Student organisation has also decided to intensify the agitation for carving out Telangana state. The JAC of student organizations has called for a student convention in Hyderabad on 3rd January. It has demanded the Government to start the process for carving out Telangana state immediately and issue a clear statement over time frame for bifurcation of the state by 12th of next Month. Meanwhile, indefinite hunger strike is unrelenting by students of Osmania University in Hyderabad.<br/>
