Union Health Minister JP Nadda today launched the Centre for Environmental Health in New Delhi. The centre will assess the impact of environment-related problems like air pollution, climate change, pesticide use and sanitation.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion Mr Nadda said, evidence based research is very important as it gives strength to sensitise people in that direction. He said, the ministry is proactive on environmental issues and it's focus is on preventive and promotive health.<br/><br/>The centre in a joint initiative of the Public Health Foundation of India and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. On the occasion former environment minister Jairam Ramesh was also present. Mr Ramesh said, environment-related issues need to be looked upon from the public perspective.
