In Jammu and Kashmir, militants has killed a sarpanch in Pulwama district late last night.

Police said Mohammad Anin Pandit was shot dead by the gunmen outside his residence at Gulzarpora in Pulwama. Last month a sarapanch was also killed by militants in the same area.

PDP president Mehbooba mufti who is contesting Lok Sabha election from Anatnag-Pulwama constituency has expressed shock and alleged that the killing seems to be part of the strategy of ruling coalition to enforce the poll boycott to avoid eminent defeat in the constituency. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the killing so far.
