In Jammu and Kashmir, four-Day long International Rafting Championship commenced in mighty river Chenab between Thatri and Doda of Jammu region today. For the purpose a 10 Km river patch from Thatri to Prem Nagar Doda has been identified for the safe and adventurous rafting competition during the event. The rafting teams from Australia, Nepal, Chak Republic and Salvakia Republic, besides Rafting teams of Army, J&K Police, Kashmir Rafting team and Jammu Rafting team are participating in the event. Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir inaugurated the event in the presence of Minister of State for Home and Tourism Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo. This is the first ever international rafting event on river Chenab aimed at to showcase globally, promote and explore new adventure tourism potential in Jammu region and to attract international teams and tourists to this place.
