J& K Govt mulls to give one time relaxation to rural youth in para-medico courses

The Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling to give one time relaxation to rural youth in para-medico courses with a view to strengthen medicare services in far off areas of the State by creating locally available trained persons. The information was given by the Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health, Mr.Sham Lal Sharma at a meeting of District Development Commissioners and Chief Medical Officers of districts of Jammu Division convened to review the implementation of National Rural Health Mission in the region at Jammu yesterday. The Minister asked the concerned departments to contribute their best in the implementation of National Rural Health Mission and work with missionary zeal so as to achieve the aims listed in flagship health scheme. Mr. Sharma said that no state has got so much liberal funding as Jammu and Kashmir was receiving from the centre and it becomes the responsibility of all the concerned to ensure efficient utilization of the same so as to generate a strong infrastructure base at grass root level. The Minister also directed chief medical officers to frequently organize workshops for ASHA workers in their respective districts and keep on reviewing progress of AIDs .<br/> The Health Minister asked all the District Development Commissioners to take stringent action under law against the private clinics and diagnostic laboratories found indulging in sex determination. The Minister also expressed satisfaction on reduction in Infant and maternal mortality rate during last year. He said this is because of Institutional deliveries which have increased from 2200 to 66000 since last one year.<br/> <br/>
