J& K announces to set-up four astro-turf play fields

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday announced to set-up four astro-turf play fields and an equal number of archery fields in the state. The State Minister for medical education, sports and youth services, R S Chib, said in Jammu that these play fields will come up in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions for which the centre has provided five crore rupees. He reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir government was giving due attention to all the three regions of the state and insisted that promotion of sports remains a key agenda. The minister also spelled out various measures taken by the Jammu and Kashmir government during the past three years to lift the profile of sports in the state.
