Mr. J B Patnaik has been appointed as the Governor of Assam. He will succeed Syed Sibtey Razi whose term expires on the 9th of the next month. According to Rashtrapati Bhawan communique, Dr. D.Y. Patil has been appointed as the Governor of Tripura in place of Dr. Kamla Beniwal, who has been shifted from Tripura and appointed as the Governor of Gujarat for the remaining term. The appointments will take effect from the dates they assume the charge of their respective offices.<br/>
