IWAS World Games start in Bangalore

The International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation IWAS World Games was kick started in Bangalore on Tuesday. Seated in a wheelchair and supported by crutches these special sportspersons from 37 different countries March passed amidst ovation from the audience. The physically challenged sportspersons will show their prowess in 11 disciplines namely Athletics, Swimming, rugby, table tennis, badminton, golf, power lifting, fencing, shooting among others. The game was inaugurated by Medical Education minister in Karnataka Ramachandre Gowda. Cultural programme and fireworks formed part of the glittering inaugural in Kanteerava Stadium.
