The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Director General, Ranjeet Sinha today ruled out any major air space violation by China along the Sino -Indian border.
Addressing the annual press conference in New Delhi, Mr. Sinha said that though there has been air space violation three times by Chinese helicopters in May – June this year. He however said it could be taken as perceived violation. ITBP chief said the line of actual control is contested by both the countries and the air violation is an issue of perception.
In reply to a question about the deployment of ITBP in Naxal affected areas , Mr. Sinha said that 15 companies of the border guarding agency have been deployed along side the borders of Chhatisgarh and Maharastra. He said that the force is fully equipped to undertake any operation, anywhere.
The ITBP DG said also that the present strength of 77 thousands men and women in ITBP will be increased to 89 thousand by 2015.
