The Indo-Tibetan Border Police, ITBP is recruiting a large number of people from the naxal affected states and border areas to bring them into the mainstream.
Stating this in New Delhi today, Director General of ITBP, Ranjit Sinha said, as per the directions from the Home Ministry, the force would also provide some relief for them in the eligibility criteria.
Talking about the ITBP preparedness to combat naxalism in the country, he said, it is committed to fight the menace and has already deployed around 15 compnaies in the affected areas, especially, in Chattishgarh.
To a query on the rise in rate of suicide among soldiers in the paramilitary forces, Mr Sinha said, the ITBP has assured its soldiers about complete help and has also special medical and stress relieving classes and facilities.
Earlier, he felicitated the London Olympic medal winner wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt with a memento of ITBP. He lauded Mr Dutt, saying he has brought laurels for the country and the ITBP honoured his brave act.
Mr Sinha informed that the force is organising a half marathon named as ITBP-run for the nation, which will be held in the capital on the 7th of next month. He said, it aims to motivate youth to contribute in the nation building and join security forces.
